Enlisted in the United States Navy straight out of High School in 1976. A time when joining the military was not a popular thing to do. I worked hard, did my job always striving to improve myself and further my education.
I advanced to Chief Petty Officer in record time and applied for an Officers Commission. I was promoted to the rank of ensign and attended submarine school in Groton CT for the second time in my career; first as an enlisted person then as an officer.
During my 26 year career I was assigned to seven nuclear powered submarines, an aegis cruiser, a submarine group, a submarine squadron, special warfare group (SEALs), and a naval air station.
I am a conservative person for the most part. I believe in small government, personal responsibility and accountability, low taxes to stimulate and encourage job growth, and I believe everyone is totally responsible for his or her own future.
The United States is a great country and opportunity awaits those willing to work hard and get an education.
